When exactly did this replace NASC? - Gilded Lily

I have the same question: Is this the same thing as "Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges"? Why is the NASC redirected here? - TAG

The answer's here: http://www.nwccu.org/About/History/NWCCU%20History.htm

"The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities replaces the Commission on Colleges and Universities that was originally part of the Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities, a voluntary, nongovernmental organization for the improvement of educational institutions founded in 1917."

I phoned them and they said the switchover was fall 2004; nobody had a date handy and I was busy.

A redirect seems kind of creepy, as if NASC never existed in its previous form. - Gilded Lily
