"The last 45C-LFW was manufactured for Chicago and painted in a red, white and blue motif. The Chicago contract for 25 buses was cancelled when the company realized they were losing big bucks (rumored to be $50,000 each) on each CompoBus."

Does anyone know:

1. The terms of the contract? NABI press releases indicated that it was for 25 buses (firm), but the CTA had told the Tribune in 2003 that it would be receiving one bus, and could take up to two dozen more. Did CTA or NABI cancel the contract?

2. What happened to "the last 45C-LFW" CTA 7800? Other than chicagobus.org having pictures of it, there is no trace of its subsequent whereabouts.

[edit] Clean up

I added the clean-up tag. Problems include the changing tense in the first paragraphs and the use of unexplained terminology throughout the article.--WideArc 19:59, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Since it is being sold, I doubt that the difference in tense is a problem. Busjack 16:12, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

I strongly agree with the clean-up tag; this article is confused, does not present information in a logical order, and does not give an effective overview of the company, its history or anything else. I'll add it to my 'to-work-on' list. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 16:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
I've spent quite a bit of time cleaning the article up as well as expanding on some points (such as company history and adding some neutrality on the Compobus matter) and have posted a new version up. I've also removed the cleanup tag given that whatever cleanup that needed to be done has been done. Scrabbleship 04:18, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
It's certainly a lot better - good work! One question - there's little discussion of what Ikarus was, and no Wikilinks either. I presume from the surrounding text that it was a bus manufacturer, but little else. Can you explain further, either here or in a separate article? [edit] Rumor that NABI Buses have Parts Made near Auschwitz

I heard a rumor from someone who claims to have worked for NABI that the company has a plant near Oswiecim, Poland, and that it was "about a quarter of a mile away from Auschwitz-Birkenau". Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything online to confirm or deny this. Is this true or not? 204.52.215.107 00:59, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citizens Area Transit NABI's

I would like to request an addition to the current models pictures section. I work for the transit agency in Las Vegas, and apart from currently recieving our order of 30 NABI 40-LFW Hybrids, we are also currently recieving our order of 20 NABI 40-LFW Diesels. I have uploaded a picture of this vehicle. The file name is "CAT NABI Diesel 2008.jpg". Cello06 (talk) 09:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
