Norwood, North Yorkshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ordnance Survey Explorer Map 297 (Lower Wharfedale & Washburn Valley) records two geographical features named Norwood: Norwood Edge and Norwood Bottom, as well as 17th Century houses called Norwood Bottom Hall and Norwood Hall. But the largest settlement with this name (on Norwood Lane) is marked on the map as "Bland Hill". There is also a Norwood in the Washburn Valley (pronounced locally as "Norood", just as Warwick is pronounced "Warrick"). The parish church is nearby at Fewston close to Swinsty Reservoir.
