[edit] History
The park was established in the 1990's along with the Sydney housing boom. Farms had previously occupied the area. The park eventually grew with the population, which was expanding rapidly. The first business to be constructed was the Bella Vista Coles supermarket.
When Hillsong Church was established, business continued to boom (as well as the size of the church) and in 2005 saw the construction of the Woolworths Limited head office which now provides hundreds of jobs. several cafe's and restaurants also serve the business park
Other large scale corporations in the Norwest Busisness Park with include ResMed, AAMI Insurance, Bunnings Hardware store, Fitness First gym, and The Reserve Bank Of Australia.
[edit] Transport
The North West Metro, due for completion in 2017 will include a train station under the Hillsong Church. As of 2006 the only form of public transport in the business park is by bus. In late 2005, the M7 Motorway opened up with an exit at the western end of Norwest Boulevard, this gave the busisness park greater exposure for busisnesses in Southern and Western Sydney with motorway exits at the M5 at Prestons and the M4 at Eastern Creek respectively. The M2 Hills Motorway (which connects with the M7 near Old Windsor Road) also provides travel connections to the Sydney CBD and airport. However the increase of traffic flow from the Motorways brought traffic congestion. Norwest Boulevard, Windsor and Old Windsor Roads often have traffic jams during morning and afternoon peak times.
It has recently been uncovered that a secret deal with the operators of the M2 motorway (the only motor way connecting the North West to the CBD) would prevent the construction of a railway after 2020.
[edit] North-West T-Way
In late March 2007, the North West T-Way opened up, providing relief to the traffic congested business park. The T-Way runs from Parramatta to Rouse Hill, with plans to extend it further towards Windsor. The T-Way provides frequent bus services between Parramatta and Rouse Hill, promoting the use of public transport in and around Sydney. The route runs primarily along Old Windsor Road with several stops. The two main bus stations for Norwest Business Park is Norbik (near the corner of Old Windsor Road and Norwest Boulevard) and Edgewater (near the corner of Old Windsor Road and Cellebration Drive).
The North West T-Way also runs from Blacktown to Rouse Hill, running along Sunnyholt Road before joining the Parramatta - Rouse Hill T-Way at Burns Road. Until the North West Train Link is constructed (due for completion in 2017), the T-Way is the only form on public transport the links the Business Park to Blacktown and Parramatta Train Stations.
