Norwegian First Division 1985

The 1985 season of the Norwegian First Division (1. divisjon), the highest football (soccer) league in Norway, began on 27 April 1985 and ended on 13 October 1986.
22 games were played with 2 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Number eleven and twelve were relegated. The winners of the two groups of the Second Division were promoted, as well as the winner of a series of play-off matches between the two second-placed teams in the two groups of the Second Division and number ten in the First Division.
Rosenborg B.K. won the league after defeating league leader Lillestrøm S.K. in the final round.

- SK Brann and Eik-Tønsberg were relegated to the Second Division
- Hamarkameratene and Strømmen I.F. were promoted from the Second Division
- The qualification matches were contested between Moss F.K. (10th in the First Division), Sogndal I.L. (2nd in the Second Division - Group A), and Tromsø I.L. (2nd in the Second Division - Group B). Tromsø won and was promoted to the First Division.
