Northwood is a suburb of London in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

It is the home to Northwood Headquarters, which is the location of the British Armed Forces Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) for planning and controlling overseas military operations.

The MP for the constituency of Ruislip-Northwood is currently Nick Hurd, who was elected in the May 2005 general election with 47.7% of the vote. The boundary of the constituency , which currently encompases neighbouring Ruislip, will be modified for the next general election to create the constituency of Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner.

An area of Northwood has been put under a place of special interest restriction, as the area, including the old High Street, Chester Road and Hallowell Road has many Victorian houses and the roads form a triangular shape.

The name Northwood refers to the fact the town is located on the "north wood" of the area of Ruislip.
