Northwest sound
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Northwest Sound is a style of American Indie Rock whose sound emerged in the early 1990s, established by bands from the American Northwest. This style of music relies upon a guitar-heavy melodic pop sound, commonly featuring double-tracked vocals. While it bearing a certain similarity to Seattle Sound/Grunge and at times drawing from it, the Northwest Sound can be distinguished by its more introspective, less angst-ridden lyrics and a less aggressive tone.
