Northwest Whitfield High School is a public high school in the Whitfield County School District. Colors are Royal Blue and Orange. Mascot: Bruin. Division AAAA in Georgia High School Association Sports. Located in Tunnel Hill, Georgia.

[edit] Academics
Northwest High School is very devoted to academics and improving the school. Many academic programs exists and students can take Tech Prep, College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement Classes.
Mission Statement: "The mission of Northwest Whitfield High School is to enable all students to become life-long learners and valuable citizens who are able to function successfully in a diverse, technology-focused world."
Beliefs: 1. Students learn best in a safe and respectful learning environment that is both structured and challenging.
2. School should prepare students for life-long learning by teaching problem solving and real-world application skills.
3. A variety of teaching and evaluation methods encourages student learning.
4. School should be a place where individual needs are recognized and the curriculum is designed to include all students.
5. Community involvement plays an important role in making our school a place of learning.
[edit] Fine Arts
Fine Arts at Northwest consist of Choral, Band, Art, and Drama departments. The Band department has several bands: The Sound of the Blazing Blue, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Concert Bands, the Largest being the Sound of the Blazing Blue with 200 members. The director of bands is George S. Barnett and assistant director is Melody Gaddis. The Choral department consists of Acapella, Northwest Singers, Varsity Choir, and Concert Choir. The choral director is Carla Carroll. The Drama department consists of One-Act play, several plays throughout the year, and drama club. Several Drama courses are offered in the High school. The directors are Josh Ruben and Alana Sane.
