Northwest Conference (Iowa)

The Northwest Conference is a high school athletic conference in Iowa. It consists of 8 schools. The conference has been known over the years as one of the best 1A basketball conferences in Iowa. Traditional powers Newell-Fonda and Pomeroy-Palmer combined for 14 state appearances and 6 state titles between 1990 and 2004. Alta has won the conference the last two years and was ranked #1 in Iowa for the better part of both seasons. The conference also sponsors volleyball, women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's track, baseball, softball, and cross country. The eight schools in the conference:

In 2008, Pomeroy-Palmer will leave the conference, as they are joining the Pochahontas Area School District.
