Northstate Public Radio (KCHO 91.7 Chico/KFPR 88.9 Redding) is a public radio organization run by Chico State, and has a station in Redding and a station in Chico. It airs programming from National Public Radio (NPR) and other public radio producers and distributors, as well as locally produced news and public affairs programs, classical music, talk radio and jazz. KFPR's signal covers the entire Sacramento Valley including the cities of Red Bluff, Oroville, Paradise, Anderson, and Shasta Lake City.

Jefferson Public Radio is one of Northstate Public Radio's competitors.
