Claim to Fame

Keith Chegwin's sister-in-law's mother once knew someone who lived in the area for 2 months.

Gang culture

It is widely regarded as being a bit 'ho hum'. It is home to two of the most pathetic gangs in the east coast of Scotland, the now disbanded YNE (Young Northfield Eagles) and the present YNC (Young Northfield Crew).

Landmarks

Two of the best known landmarks in Northfield would be the Community Centre and the well decorated Green Box outside of it. It has been local folklore for years as to why this box is actually there and what it contains. I can now reveal it is a listening post for the CIA manned by midgets.

Sporting history

Northfield's reputation as a serious sporting area was tarnished after the tragedy that was Northfield Boys Club. The team failed to record a single league point or victory in any cup for three whole seasons. Many attributed this to failed coaching squads, many said it was because the players were a bit guff. The team recently disbanded after the manager decided he had better things to do. This led to most of the players taking up sports that they were much more physically suited to playing e.g. Darts and possum juggling.
