Northern Railroad of New York

The Northern Railroad of New York (AAR reporting marks NRNY) was incorporated on May 14, 1845. The first refrigerated boxcar, or "reefer" entered service on the NRNY in June, 1851. The company was acquired by the Rutland Railroad on August 1, 1865.
