[edit] Promotion and relegation

In the fifteenth season of the Northern Premier League Gateshead (as champions) were automatically promoted to the Alliance Premier League, while King's Lynn moved to the Southern League Premier Division, Tamworth moved to the Southern League Midland Division, and Netherfield left the League altogether at the end of the season. The four clubs were replaced by relegated Alliance sides Barrow and Stafford Rangers as well as newly-admitted Rhyl and Horwich RMI.
