Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association

Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (NOSSAA) is the governing body of all secondary school athletic compition in Sudbury, Northbay, Sault St. Marrie, French River Valley, and Timmins and area.

- to establish a closer relationship among the member schools of the Association[1]..
- to encourage and promote sound interschool athletic competition among the students of the secondary schools of the member districts[1]
[edit] Regions Represented
NOSSAA Champions typically represent the region of North Eastern Ontario during OFSAA competitions.
In all areas governed by the Rainbow District School Board and the Sudbury Catholic District School Board the winner of the Sudbury District Secondary Athletics Association (SDSSAA)typically represents Sudbury during NOSSAA Championships.

The First NOSSAA Championship was in 1923 when North Bay Collegiate was crowned NOSSAA Football Champions[2]
