Northern Lehigh School District is a school district primarily located in Lehigh County, with a small portion located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It serves the boroughs of Slatington and Walnutport; as well as Washington Township. Their school mascot is a bulldog and their nickname is Bulldogs.

[edit] Northern Lehigh High School

Main article: Northern Lehigh High School

Students in grades 9 through 12 attend Northern Lehigh High School, located in Slatington. The High School Principal is Aileen Yadush. The Assistant Principals are Jill Chamberlain and Don Allen.

[edit] Northern Lehigh Middle School

The Northern Lehigh Middle School, located in Slatington admits students in grades 7 and 8 from the Northern Lehigh School District. The Principal of the Middle School is Dave Papay. The assistant is Jill Chamberlain.

[edit] Peters Elementary School

Peters Elementary School is the only K-2 Elementary School in the district and is located near the village of Friedens in Washington Township. The principal of Peters Elementary is Karen Nicholas.

[edit] Slatington Elementary School

Slatington Elementary School is located in Slatington and is the only school that teaches students from grades 3-6 in the Northern Lehigh School District. The building also houses the district warehouse and administrative offices. The Principal of Slatington Elementary is Linda Marcincin.

From 1890 to July 1952, the school district was referred to as the Slatington School District. On July 7, 1952, Slatington and Walnutport School Districts merge to form the Blue Valley Union School District. On August 20, 1953, Blue Valley Union School District and Washington Township School District agree to become the Northern Lehigh Joint Schools. On July 1, 1966, the school districts merged to form the Northern Lehigh School District as we know it today.

Mr. Michael W. Michaels will be appointed Monday, June 9, 2008 at the school board meeting as the Northern Lehigh School District's 17th Superintendent.

He will agree on his contract on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the school board meeting.
