[edit] History
Founded in 1982 as a feeder league to the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division, it was originally split into two sections; Division One North and Division One South. A re-organisation emerged for the 1984-85 season and a Central Division was formed. The following season all three separate divisions merged into one, which continues to this day.
In June 2007, Scarborough F.C. (relegated from Conference North) went out of business[1] and a new club formed by their supporters' trust, Scarborough Athletic F.C., successfully applied for a place in Division One.[2]
