Northern California Lindy Society (NCLS) was founded in 1984, incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1997. It is completely run by volunteers.

To preserve and promote the original American dance form known as the Lindy Hop, to educate the public about the music and dances that relate to Lindy and to develop a flourishing local Lindy Hop community that is friendly to all.
