Northeast High School (located in Oakland Park, Florida) is a high school in Broward County, Florida. Northeast serves Oakland Park and Fort Lauderdale as well as the portion of North Lauderdale east of Florida's Turnpike.

Northeast High School is a magnet school with three specialties: Architecture, Business, and Latin. All students must choose one of the three magnet programs to enroll in, and this determines several courses that the students will take.

In February 2007, Dr. Sandy Melillo, an English and TV Production teacher at Northeast, was named Broward County's 2008 Teacher of the Year.

Northeast High School has a myriad of exciting clubs such as Humane Society, Art, National Honor Society, Key Club, SECME: Science, Engineering, Communication, Mathematics Enrichment, Ecology Club, Human Relations Council, Drama, Anime Club, First Priority, Mu Alpha Theta, and Band.

[edit] 2008 SECME Scholars

In 2008 Northeast High School had three students name 2008 SECME Scholars by Florida Atlantic University with all three reciving full paid scholarships to FAU. They are: Thomas B. Lynch, Kevin L. Ives, and Wayne E. Bernard.

[edit] Air Force Junior ROTC

In 1991 Northeast High School's Air Force JROTC unit, Florida-822, won first place overall at the Florida State Drill Team & Color Guard meet hosted at Patrick Air Force Base led by Cadet Colonel Kevin Croyle.

In 2008 the Northeast Drill Team won second place in the Eastern Division National Drill Meet hosted by the Air Force Association in Macon, Georgia.

The Cadet Group is currently commanded by Cadet Colonel Kevin L. Ives who is part of the School's Award Winning Color Guard.

Northeast has programs in Football, Water Polo, Swimming, Volleyball, Soccer, Track, Cross Country, Flag Football, Ice Hockey and Baseball.
