North Wilkes High School is a public high school (grades 9-12) located in Hays, North Carolina. It is a part of the Wilkes County School System. The school's enrollment typically runs from 600 to 750 students. The school's district includes the towns of Hays, North Wilkesboro, and Traphill, as well as the northern regions of Wilkes County.

The original school building, built in the 1950s, was demolished in 2006, to be replaced in the future with new wings.

North Wilkes High School courses follow block scheduling. A normal day consists of four ninety-minute blocks. The third block is 120 minutes long allowing for a thirty-minute lunch period. A normal day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:15 pm.

The school offers career prep classes and college prep classes. It offers honors-level mathematics, English, history, and science courses. North Wilkes also offers Advanced Placement courses in subjects such as English. The language department offers courses in Spanish and Latin. North Wilkes is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, also known as SACS.

North Wilkes High School supports varsity teams for the following sports: men's/women's basketball, football, men's baseball, wrestling, women's softball, women's volleyball, men's/women's soccer, men's/women's tennis, cross country, track and field, and swimming.

North Wilkes competes in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference conference on the 2A level of athletics in North Carolina.
