North Terrace is a street in Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. It runs east-to-west, and is the northernmost street in the grid of the city's central business district[1].

Theoretically, the northern side of North Terrace is part of the Adelaide Parklands. However, much of the space between North Terrace and the River Torrens is now occupied by cultural institutions. These include:

The Adelaide Festival Centre, Elder Park and historic Torrens Parade Ground are also between North Terrace and the River Torrens.

The southern side of the street includes the large new City West campus of the University of South Australia, the exclusive and historic Adelaide Club, part of the Rundle Mall shopping precinct, the historic Ayers House, and some of the commercial buildings of the city.

As of October 2007, the Glenelg Tram operates along the western half of North Terrace. One stop is located adjacent to the Adelaide Railway Station, and the service terminates at the University of South Australia City West campus.
