North Star is a small village in northern New South Wales near the Queensland border.
[edit] Railway
The railway arrive in 1932 with the opening of the line to Boggabilla. In the 1980s with the closure of all traffic except grain, the line was cut back to North Star which has the last silo.
The proposed Inland Railway would see the line restore north of North Star, though it would take a new alignment in the direction of Toowoomba.
