North Merrick Fire Department

North Merrick Fire Department (NMFD) is a volunteer fire department headquartered in North Merrick, NY. Covering 2.1 square miles it is responsible for one of the smallest fire districts in Nassau County, NY. The North Merrick Fire Department has approximately 85 members using 16 pieces of apparatus located at one station.
In 2005, the North Merrick Fire Department was honored as Nassau County's EMS Agency of the Year.
The Chief of the Department is Joseph Vicario.
