North Kildonan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rural Municipality of North Kildonan was incorporated on January 1, 1925. Previously, it had been part of the farming community of the Rural Municipality of East Kildonan.

In 1972, North Kildonan merged with the City of Winnipeg in Unicity.

The Mennonites first settled in North Kildonan in 1928. This was done to fulfill immigration requirements to be farmers and yet be close to city employment opportunities.

Today, North Kildonan is a neighborhood within Winnipeg.
