North Hertfordshire College

North Hertfordshire College is a further education college operating predominantly in North Hertfordshire, with 29,000 enrolments in 2005-06. The College is based across 3 main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, with a purpose built Management Centre in Letchworth Garden City, and employs 500 staff plus approximately 300 part time & specialist agency workers.
The College plays an active role in developing flexible curriculum delivery to meet the needs of the labour force and to ensure that all adults and young people participate fully in the local economy. The College operates extensively in the community, with a range of partnerships throughout the North Hertfordshire area.
The College has been accredited with Investors in People four times and achieved Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Management in 2002, and CoVE status in Sports & Fitness Coaching in 2006. The College has achieved the Customer First Award at the Goldsmith Management Centre.
The College restructured in 2006, and now operates through six Academies:

- Creative & Cultural Industries
- Employment Services
- Sport, Health & Wellbeing
- Technology Services
- Sixth(VI) Form
The curriculum is delivered at each of the College’s campuses, at a range of outreach locations, learning shops in community venues, schools and a football club, and other venues agreed with local employers and community/business partners. The College is committed to developing extensive community links and part of the curriculum is successfully delivered off site through our Community Partnerships Department.
The College offers a range of support mechanisms to learners through its Learner Services team, which operates across the whole College and includes a pro-active Students’ Union.
