The North East Air Support Unit is the main aerial support for police forces in North East England.

The North East Air Support Unit was formed in 1995 by joint venture of Cleveland, Durham and Northumbria police forces. Before this each force operated their own aerial support.
[edit] Fleet
The North East Air Support Unit currently has a fleet of 2 Helicopters they are:
- 1 Eurocopter EC-135 registration G-NESV. The aircraft was received in 1999 and is currently based at Newcastle Airport. Its call sign is "India 99".
- 1 Eurocopter EC-135 registration G-NEAU. The aircraft was received in 2004 and is currently based at Durham Tees Valley Airport. Its call sign is "India 55"

- 1 Eurocopter Ecureuil registration G-PASF. The aircraft was based at Newcastle Airport and was the North East Air Support Unit first aircraft. It was replaced in 1999 by G-NESV.
- 1 Britten-Norman Islander registration G-NESU. This aircraft was charted from 2000-2005 while funds were being raised for G-NEAU. The aircraft was based at Durham Tees Valley Airport
