North Central Illinois Conference
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The North Central Illinois Conference, far better known as the NCIC, is an IHSA recognized high school extra-curricular conference. It is located, as the name would indicate, in the north-central part of the state. The schools all hail from single-high school communities, with municipal populations in the 5000-20,000 range. The conference, which has twelve schools, is split up into two divisions for football only.
The 2006 season saw the first change in the conference line-up in 42 years, as the Rochelle Hubs, having won nine consecutive NCIC football championships, left the NCIC in search of stronger competition in the Western Sun Conference.[1] Rochelle was replaced in the conference line-up by Illinois Valley Central High School, located in Chillicothe.[2]
Current conference members are:
- Dixon High School
- Geneseo High School
- Hall (Spring Valley) High School
