North Buffalo Township is a township in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,942 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.2 square miles (65.2 km²), of which, 24.7 square miles (63.9 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²) of it (1.91%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,942 people, 1,151 households, and 888 families residing in the township. The population density was 119.2 people per square mile (46.0/km²). There were 1,203 housing units at an average density of 48.8/sq mi (18.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.46% White, 0.17% African American, 0.20% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, and 0.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.48% of the population.
There were 1,151 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.3% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 20.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 2.92.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.2% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 101.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.9 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $37,375, and the median income for a family was $43,359. Males had a median income of $32,168 versus $21,406 for females. The per capita income for the township was $16,528. About 4.2% of families and 7.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.4% of those under age 18 and 6.5% of those age 65 or over.
