From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The North Branch Metedeconk River (pronounced muh-TEE-duh-KUHNGK) is a 20 mile (32 km) long tributary of the Metedeconk River in southeastern New Jersey in the United States.

Like many area streets, waterways and towns, Metedeconk is the original word or phrase used by the pre-European peoples of the area, the Lenape.
