North Ballarat Football Club

The North Ballarat Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Ballarat. The club is locally known as the Roosters and plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). North Ballarat is one of only four clubs based outside of Melbourne in this competition. The club also has an affiliated Under 18s club, the North Ballarat Rebels, which participates in the TAC Cup.

The club was established in 1882.

North Ballarat have an alignment with the (higher level) AFL competition team North Melbourne Football Club . Players not selected in the Kangaroos AFL team will play with either North Ballarat, or competing VFL club the Werribee Tigers.[1]

The club has produced many Australian Football League stars, including Darren Jolly[citation needed], Mick Malthouse,[2] Brownlow medallist Tony Lockett[citation needed], and dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes[citation needed].
