[edit] Institution
Norte Vista (or NoVi) started as a junior high school, named Arlington Jonior High, from 1958-1960. since then it has expanded into a large-sized high school, in comparison to area high schools. Upon becoming a high school, Norte Vista originally only allowed 9th-11th grade students, but the first senior class to join Norte Vista was the class of 1964 (1963-1964). Norte Vista's current "feeder" middle schools are Wells and Loma Vista Middle School. Norte Vista shares an intense rivalry with La Sierra High School. La Sierra and Norte Vista are currently the only high schools in the Alvord Unified School District, as a new high school will begin construction in the coming year-or-so.
Fact: Norte Vista's Years Book was originally named "Smoke Signal"

[edit] Norte Vista Alma Mater
Sung to the tune of the German and Austrian National Anthem
NoVi High we love your colors,
That are shining red and white.
We'll preserve your glorious name
And we'll keep your honor bright.
Lead us down life's path,
Give us courage strong,
Through your hallowed halls we've roamed.
Let our motto be,
"God eternally."
Hail, Norte Vista High
All hail to thee!
