NorrlandsOperan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The NorrlandsOperan (literally Norrland Opera), is an opera company in Umeå, located in Norrland, Sweden. It was founded in 1974.
Among notable productions in late years are the collaboration with local hard rock groups in Demons of the Opera (2005); the collaboration with South African Cape Town Opera – the southernmost and northernmost opera houses in the world – with George Gershwins Porgy and Bess (2006) and the so-called Blog Opera, a collaboration with local school kids of different ages (2007).
It was the location of the Amplified Festival in 2007 in which, while Mando Diao were playing, the temporary floor gave way injuring over 25 fans.[1]
