Norman B. Barr

Norman Burton Barr (1868-1943) is credited with dramatically expanding the work of the Olivet Institute which was founded in 1888 in Chicago's "Little Hell." Rev. Barr joined Olivet Institute after graduating from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Chicago in 1897.

Barr was born in Mount Palatine, Illinois on January 27, 1868. He was the son of Lawrence Clay Barr and Harriet Amanda (Ferry) Barr.
