Norman ASA (OSE: NORMAN) founded in on October 1, 1984, is active within the field of data security, with products for antivirus (virus control), personal firewall, antispam, encryption, antispyware, and parental control. Norman's head office is based in Norway, but the company has several offices in other countries.
On December 17, 2007, Norman released their next generation software - Norman Security Suite.

Norman Virus Control is Norman's antivirus. The software will be replaced with Norman Security Suite in 2008.

Norman Internet Control is a security package containing Norman's Virus Control, Personal Firewall, Anti-Spyware and Parental Control. The software will be replaced with Norman Security Suite in 2008.

Norman Security Suite is Norman's next generation security software. The version build was updated from 5.90 to version 7.00 in this release.

Any file subject to scanning that is not either recognized as a virus or cleared as a legitimate file is subsequently forced to enter a virtual computer environment and scanned for suspicious behavior.[1] According to Tüv the software has managed a 70% detection rate for viruses lacking definition files in testing.[citation needed]
