Norm Michaud has been the bassist for the Canadian Heavy Metal band Betrayer since 1999. He is also considered a Senior Council member of the Weekend of Pain and the James Luke Society.

[edit] Early years

Michaud was born in London, Ontario, Canada), the eldest child born to Norm Renee Michaud and Patricia Ann Michaud. He was raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Michaud began playing bass at the age of fifteen, becoming self-taught learning the styles of Geezer Butler, Dave Ellefson, and Cliff Burton.

[edit] Betrayer

Michaud first joined Betrayer in 1999 as a temporary replacement for their bassist V. Manzero (who now plays guitar for Measured in Angles). After a first gig and subsequent practices, Betrayer asked Michaud to join the band full time.

Michaud appears on the following Betrayer recordings: ""Rusted Icons"" LP (2000), ""Anger's Release"" single (2001), ""Shadowed Force"" EP (2005), ""Headed for Disaster"" single (2007).

During live performances Michaud had been known for his energetic style of showmanship and headbanging, and for utilizing both a pick and his fingers. However, due to an automobile accident in June, 2005 Michaud no longer performs as rigorously and has been known to require painkillers for inflammatory pain in his lower back and hips before and after performances.
