Norland College

Norland College, founded in 1892 by Emily Ward, is a provider of childcare training and education. Norland trainees are employed world-wide as nannies, nursery nurses and in other positions in a variety of early years settings.
Throughout its history the college has been based at various locations throughout the UK, notably Chislehurst, Kent, and is presently based in Bath.

- In February 1999, the first male nanny trainee was accepted since the inception of the college in 1892.
- A graduate of the college can be stripped of the diploma if he/she contravenes the principles of Norland. This way the college maintains its high reputation.
- A family employing a Nanny from Norland college can pay around €30,000 per annum (rate as of 2006).
- A so-called Sky Nannies diploma was introduced, in 2006, which specializes in the care of children during in airplane trips.
