Noreen Doreen Bell was a character in the British soap opera Emmerdale. She was played by actress Jenny Tomasin.
Noreen was first introduced as a cantankerous pensioner who irritated Val Lambert on her community service in late 2005. She then struck up a mutual friendship with Val and Sandy Thomas. She wore a wig and fake eyebrows.
Noreen lived over on the far south east edge of the village in Tall Trees Cottage. It is beyond Mill Cottage, near to the Cricket Pavilion and is named after the large plantation further east.
She died on 13 July 2006, when she was snooping around the Kings' show home, and opened a cupboard door, only to be blasted by a gas leak coming from the cupboard killing her instantly. She left a fortune in her will to Val Lambert.
