Nordonia High School is a public high school in Macedonia, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Nordonia Hills City School District. Their nickname is the Knights. The school currently enroles roughly 1400 students.
[edit] Overview
The school name comes from the names of the two cities it primarily serves: Macedonia and Northfield, though the school district's name Nordonia Hills City Schools encompasses the communities whose taxes fund the district: Northfield Village, Northfield Center, Macedonia, Sagamore Hills, and the northwestern section of Boston Heights.
Students who attend Nordonia High School often call it "Nordopia" because of comments by prominent comedian Jay Leno. After students were caught dealing and consuming drugs on school property during a football game in 1993, Leno featured the story on his show and commented that the school's name should be changed to "Nordopia".[citation needed]
