Nord, Greenland is at 81.70 North Latitude, 17.50 West Longitude and is above the Arctic Circle. It is about 924 km (574 miles) from the geographic North Pole. The Danish Defense Command has a base there, which is staffed by four Danish officers who stay for the year; accommodations are also available for up to 20 scientists during the summer months.

The name Nord simply means "north" in Danish.

In the vampire thriller 30 Days of Night: Rumors of the Undead by Steve Niles and Jeff Mariotte (Pocket Books 2006), an FBI agent learns that Nord was depopulated in the winter of 1911, perhaps due to a mass vampire attack.
