[edit] Political views
Some of Geis' views on political and social issues seem to be more rightist than the CDU/CSU's general ideas. So he pronounced against the legal equalization of Same-sex marriage. He also defended the former CDU member Martin Hohmann, who got suspended after a speech, which was regarded as anti-Semitic. Geis said that Hohmann had only been misunderstood. In 2003 he called for a "härtere Gangart" (means such as "a stricter way of treatment") during interrogations by the police. He said that it had to be possible to threaten somebody with violence,if a human life can be saved in that way. With these words he showed comprehension with the deputy police chief of Frankfurt Wolfgang Daschner, who had threatened a child kidnapper with violence and following that had been judged to a suspended sentence.
