St. Mary and St. Barlok church and hall, Norbury, Derbyshire and Roston. Parts of the church and the medieval Hall, Norbury, Roston and Norbury Norbury is famous for its links with George Eliot, whose father Robert Evans, was born on Roston Common. Robert attended a local school and sang in the choir at Norbury church. Members of the Evans family, grandfather George, grandmother Mary and aunt Susannah, are buried in Norbury churchyard.
