Nonene

Nonene is an alkene with the molecular formula C9H18. It is an intermediate in production of nonylphenol. Propylene undergoes polymerization to form a trimer which is then converted to nonene. Nonene is then reacted in an alkylation process with phenol to produce nonylphenol.
