The list of video games here represent games which have been recognized by critics as being "the worst games ever created". Whether through technical flaws, a weak story, or just an overall poor experience, these games are regarded in their field with unsurpassed negativity and are usually only notable for being poorly made.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Original release dates: NA - September 6, 1982	1982—Atari 2600
	Notes: Listed as the worst game of all time by PC World[1], Electronic Gaming Monthly[2], and Michael Dolan, editor of FHM magazine.[3] Famous for the infamous Atari video game burial, in which Atari dumped truckloads of E.T. cartridges into a landfill after they failed to sell.[4] The game is commonly cited as one of the main causes of the Video game crash of 1983.

Custer's Revenge Original release dates: NA - October 13, 1982 [5]

Notes: Listed as the most shameful game of all time by GameSpy[6], as the third worst game of all time by PC World[1] and GameTrailers[7], and as the ninth worst game by Seanbaby for Electronic Gaming Monthly[8]. Named the third naughtiest game of all time by Seanbaby[9]. Features a crude simulation of an apparent rape of a Native American woman named "Revenge"[6], and has been called one of the most violent games of all time.[10]

Shaq Fu Original release dates: NA - March 4, 1994 [11]	1994—Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis[11] 1995—Game Boy, Sega Game Gear
	Notes: Listed as the worst game of all time by Netjak[12], and was rated as the worst fighting game of all time by GameTrailers.[13] The game featured professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal as a playable character, and included a single from one of his rap CDs.

Superman 64 Original release dates: NA - March 31, 1999 [14]

1999—Nintendo 64[14]

Notes: Listed as the worst game of all time by GameTrailers[7], and as the worst comic book video game adaptation in history by GameSpy.[15] Critics were overwhelmingly negative in reviews, with Joe Fielder of GameSpot writing, "This is easily the worst game I've ever played,"[16] and other sites such as IGN[17] and Game Revolution[18] panning the game for its atrocious set-up, gameplay, and graphics.

Kabuki Warriors Original release dates: NA - November 19, 2001	2001—Xbox
	Notes: Received the lowest review score in the history of Edge Magazine. Game Informer wrote, "... I literally won a match just bashing the controller against my ass."

Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis Original release dates: NA - July 30, 2003 [19]	2003—GameCube, Xbox[19]
	Notes: Named as the worst game of all time by X-Play, it was the inspiration for X-Play's annual award for the worst game of the year, "The Golden Mullet", a reference to the hairstyle Aquaman features in the game.[20]

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing Original release dates: NA - November 20, 2003 [21]	2003—PC[21]
	Notes: Listed as the worst game ever made by reviews at GameSpot[22], Thunderbolt[23], and Netjak[24]. Big Rigs moved well, outselling critical successes such as Silent Storm and TrackMania.[25]
