Here are some open Wikipedia:WikiProject Sexology and sexuality/Sex work task force tasks:

  • Current Discussion:
    • Creating guidelines and standards.

•'Major infrastructure work needed

    • Creation of categories, a relationship between the categories that make sense. For instance there is a Category:Sex trade and a Category:Sex industry: how are they different? Are they? What's the criteria? Much work to be done. First we need to set the groundwork by gathering up all relevant categories. Next step would be tagging all relevant articles within each newly stable category. Review: Wikipedia:Categorization
    • Addition to List of sex work types, a list for the purpose of gathering in one place all the types of sex workers/ sex work and their variations that are currently listed on Wikipedia to make it easier for us to work together and as it progresses to serve as list for other Wikipedians to use. Sort articles into "like work" (not a political statement, literally all entries that describe what we can reasonably identify as discussing the same type of work, ex/ describing or on phone sex together) so we can then evaluate the content of the articles, if they should be merged and what titles best/most clearly suit them. Next step would be creating re-directs for all of the variants we remove, and just generally to eliminate confusion and future duplications.

•'Minor Infrastructure work needed'

    • Creation of criteria for inclusion of major and minor work as is seen below is needed, as well as assessment categories for articles as is beginning to be discussed on the task force's talk page.

Major article work needed:

    • Sex worker rights
    • Sex worker
    • Sex industry
    • Sex tourism
    • Violence against women There currently aren't any parts to this article that describe crimes and general violence against female sex workers. Prostitution, is listed alongside rape as a "see also." As a side note, this important article generally needs a great deal of fleshing out.
    • Prostitution is a featured article class apparently and we list it on our page. We need to take a look at it and weigh in on whether we feel that it is exemplary.
    • Human sexual behavior mentions sex work without naming it so. This article is important, but more so I want to use it as an example. We need to make sure that all the links to the various types of sex work MATCH UP. I bet there are twenty different entries for each job under slightly different titles. Fixing this is a major task. We need to standardize this.
    • Sex the 2nd most unwiki article used according to Wikicharts should be better quality than a B! We need to figure out what we see our relationship to this article is. May be difficult because it is at the B class.
    • Sexual Revolution article needs reorganizing, editing for consistency, and general cleanup. We should include important sex workers who came out of and influenced this movement, as well as, its influence on sex work itself. Other issues as well.
    • Pornography. As quotes from the WikiProject Sexuality and Sexology Open Task List “Article is a featured article candidate. See What is a featured article for criteria to fine tune; No big changes.” We need to check in here and see if this is up to par for us.
    • Portal:Pornography requires looking at since it obviously comes under our domain. Comments from WikiProject Sexuality and sexology Open Task List on this particular entry: “(put this here because the Portal is a subportal of sexology, and nobody really seems to visit the portal discussion anyway, and because i'm not sure if the external links are allowed (i can't really find any rules for portals generally, or porn specifically)”
    • History of sex. Important for us to review this article for sex worker content (See Talk:History of sexuality/to do.) as well.
  • Minor work needed:
    • Let's create an assessment box that more closely follows the Sexuality projects box. Not only assessing quality but importance and including assessed and unassessed as categories. I think the more specific we get, the better.

[edit] Open tasks

    • Articles to write:

Veronica Vera

    • "We can peruse this List of sexology topics for articles that need writing or (re) writing. Also for articles that we think should be renamed, disambiguated, merged, etc.

Feel free to:

    • Find articles or probably more likely *create* articles we feel are exemplary of the "good" category and the "featured" category.
