[edit] OS Update
Should the OS be updated to include the 08 update? I know may people who are running it on their n800's, but I don't know if it ships with it from the factory. I think it should be done anyway. If anyone agrees, go ahead and do it (if you are comfortable editing web content). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qloud777 (talk • contribs) 01:50, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nokia Mobile Phones?
Why is there a "Nokia Mobile Phones" table on this page? This device (like its N770 predecessor) is not a mobile phone. Well, I suppose supporting VoIP via WiFi does make it phone-ish, but there's no cellphone technology here. Ralphbk 12:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- True, but the N800 is unquestionably part of the Nokia Nseries: [1]. Perhaps the table needs renamed. Hypnotist uk 22:06, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Review Aggregation
A link was added to [2], which appears to be an automatic review aggregator. It feels like link spam to me, but I don't know what the precedent is. I have removed it because it doesn't seem appropriate to link to one single site doing this, given that there are many, many different web sites doing similar things. Bhimaji 14:48, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] trivia
I added a "trivia" subsection, to specifically address the FM tuner. One of the first web pages you go to is the "Tableteer", and one of the first applications you'll see is the "FM Radio" with a "Click to install" button. Yngvarr 14:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] USB Host?
Does the device offer an USB host? I'd like to buy a GNU/Linux PDA to which I can attach a keyboard, and it's not clear from the article if I can. - Draketo 06:46, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- The USB port requires external power (apparently designed to get power from a desktop computer during data sync). There are reports of people using a powered USB hub and various cabling to allow USB devices to be used. We need a good source if this will be described in the article. You might check if the article adequately describes that Bluetooth keyboards can be used with the N800. (SEWilco 17:46, 7 September 2007 (UTC))

- Don't buy on my advice, but...the original 770 definitely required external power. You could not do USB host without giving 5v power to the 770; even devices that are self-powered *expect* to get 5v from the host. The N800 has, I *think*, 5v power itself. It does not have the correct connector for it. I believe that you need to do some kernel hackery to get it working, and last I looked there wasn't a quick and easy setup for that.
-
- Just get a Bluetooth keyboard; they work on both, are very convenient, and are generally much smaller than the smallest USB keyboards. Bhimaji 23:22, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- n800 chipset support 'usb host' (at least 100mW ..enough for a keyboard for example), but, as previousy mentioned, is needed some hacking on the cable side and also on the kernel side. Work in progress are here : http://muru.com/linux/n800-usb-host/ --88.149.167.59 17:11, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] problems section?
should either be deleted or fleshed out... Obviously the n800 has issues, a lot more than that one. There is a public visible bug tracker for the maemo platform available at maemo.org but overall I don't think a device specfic wikipedia entery is the best place to report bugs or place feature requests. Discussion of flaws especially design issues and problems that have broader implications (ie that infuriate the user base or result in it be unsalable or unsuitable for a task for which it's being sold) are certainly appropiate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.100.124.218 (talk) 18:04, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Capacity?
Nokia's website says it can hold up to 4GB of storage, 2 in each, whereas this page says 16GB, 8 in each slot. Does anyone own the device and can tell me which it really is? I'm interested in purchasing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.245.196.179 (talk) 19:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

It supports 8 GB SDHC cards after the latest firmware updates. 139.179.137.234 (talk) 19:08, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- This is OR, but I'm personally using a 16GB card in the n800 with no problems, and have been since before your post. So I'm not sure where you got that info. the device supports SDHC, so it supports at least all SDHC capacities available at the time of firmware publishing(up to 16). When 32GB cards come out soon, I believe that it will already support them due to the way SDHC works.-₪-Hemidemisemiquaver (talk) 07:04, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CPU Speed
Recent edits have stated that the 2420 processor in the N800 runs natively at 400MHz, but the Texas Instruments OMAP article says that the chip runs at 330MHz. Which is correct?
- The CPU is the same! The OS dynamically adjusts the speed to save power.

Also the comment about "DSP speed will be halved if run at full speed" - DSP links to a disambiguation page. Could someone who actually knows what they're talking about (because I have no idea LOL!) modify this link so it points to the correct article? -- JediLofty User ¦ Talk 11:51, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

- I think its digital signal processing, but I'm not 100% sure Chocobogamer (talk) 00:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
