Do we need an article on every Nokia handset? -- Graham :) | Talk 13:02, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. No. But that means we need to de-link every entry on List_of_Nokia_products. Niteowlneils 18:03, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)
OK. I've removed all the red links. I think we should also delete Nokia 3410, Nokia 7610, and Nokia 9500. Any notable advancements (color, Java, SMS, etc.) can be noted on the main Nokia page. Niteowlneils 18:13, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - Wikipedia is not a product catalog. -- Cyrius|&#9998 01:20, Apr 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Agreed. Delete specific product pages, unless notable. Cribcage 03:34, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Valid entry. Remember: Wikipedia is not paper, We have many specific products from companies: Atari 800, Ford Taurus, Windows XP, iPod, Ultima Online. Davodd 09:27, Apr 15, 2004 (UTC)
    • Atari 800 redirects to Atari 8-bit family, and Ford Taurus and iPod are product family pages already. There are no pages for specific revisions of Windows XP or Ultima Online. None of the pages you listed are comparable to an article about a minor revision in a cell phone family. If people can actually write real articles about these, then let them say. But I don't see the feature lists of every cell phone Nokia ever made being any more useful than a data dump of the Mouser Electronics catalog. -- Cyrius|&#9998 13:45, Apr 15, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, marginally. There are far less important things in Wikipedia than individual cell phone models that thousands of people use. We keep having the debate about product inclusion here at VfD (this is at least the third time I can think of) and I don't think that a good article about a product doesn't deserve inclusion. That said, these phone articles aren't especially good. Another line or two would be useful. RADICALBENDER 14:01, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • We needn't let the presence of "far less important things" influence the decision on this particular cell phone. WP doesn't have a fixed policy on product lines, so for the foreseeable future we'll just consider each article by itself. With all due respect, Wile E. Heresiarch 14:08, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: WP is not a product catalog. Notable developments can go on the Nokia page. Wile E. Heresiarch 14:08, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Surely we should not lose the information? Maybe merge these product models into one article, if that's practical, but the information itself needs to be kept. Everyking 17:43, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. With all due respect, there really isn't any information that can be kept other than the fact the phone plays Java games. So does my Nokia 3200, but I'm not writing anything about it anytime soon. - Lucky 6.9 00:50, 16 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Yes we do need an article for every nokia handset. BL 08:08, Apr 19, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete or merge into something else. There's nothing in the article to particularly distinguish this item from any other phone that does java. --ssd 03:37, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)
