Mohamed Noh Rahman is a Singaporean footballer, born on the 2nd of August 1980, and plays for S-League team, Geylang United and also the Singapore national football team as a defender.

[edit] Club Career

Noh Rahman has been with Geylang United since the second season of the S-League in 1997. He is considered the most senior player in terms of years spent with the club, and is the vice-captain for the squad.

He is a natural right-back, though he can also play in the defensive midfield, centre-back and left-back positions when the need arises.

[edit] International Career

Noh made his debut for the national team in 2001, in a friendly against Thailand. When veteran full-back, Lim Tong Hai sustained a long injury, then national coach, Jan B. Poulsen played him in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers against the likes of Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait and Bahrain and he impressed many with his great positioning and clever passing.

However, having just recovered from a knee injury, he was rushed to play in the 2002 Tiger Cup opening group match against Malaysia and it came with debilatating consequences. He was out of sorts together with the whole Singapore back line and Singapore lost 4-0 at home as a result. As a result, many left fuming and doubting his ability at the international stage.

When Radojko Avramovic took over the reign of the national team, Noh Rahman was still out of favour in Avramovic's squad selections and was also not selected in the team that went on to win the 2004 Tiger Cup.

His versatility of being able to play in defence and in midfield finally had him back in the national set-up for the ASEAN Football Championship in 2007. In the final of that competition against Thailand, his goal mouth block which denied Thailand the winning goal has earned him a hero status among the national team fans soon after.

Noh was also praised by fans and the media for his excellent performances for the national side for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and its related friendlies.
