Nogent-le-Roi

Nogent-le-Roi is a French commune of about 4 000 people, located some twenty kilometres to the north of Chartres and a shorter distance to the south-east of Dreux. Administratively it is in the Departement of Eure-et-Loir, in the Central Region of France.

The first king of the Valois dynasty, Philip VI of France died at Nogent in August 1350, his father, Charles of Valois, himself also having died here in December 1325.

The town is twinned with Heddesheim near Mannheim in Germany.
