[edit] Steve Martin (football)
The article you changed is about an American football player...given that you're fathers an English footballer, could it be that this article is not about your father? gb (t, c) 18:28, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- No because he works at portsmouth football club and when you click on his link on Portsmouth F.C page it takes you to an american fottballer - which is incorrect.

- Well....I think it's more likely that the link on Portsmouth Football Club is wrong. Your father doesn't appear to have a page, and there therefore shouldn't be a link on the Portsmouth FC page. The article at Steve Martin (football) is definitely about an American footballer of that name - look at when it was first created - whoever created it was creating an article about the American football player, not your father. If your father satisfies the criteria of notability then you could start an article about him, but given that he's your father you have a conflict of interest so would probably be better off leaving it for someone else to write. gb (t, c) 18:36, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh ok - do you have any idea of how i can remove the link from him on the Portsmouth F.C page? or how to create one for him? thanks because he has requested it to be changed.
- On your first question, I've done it already ;-)
- On the second question, have a look here. Be sure that he satisfies the criteria of notability I linked to above, otherwise it won't last long! gb (t, c) 18:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok thank you for your help - ill see what i can do
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! gb (t, c) 18:46, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
