Noble Street

Noble Street is a street in Anniston, Alabama. It is named for Samuel Noble and is downtown Anniston's central street. It begins in southern Anniston at Front Street near a railroad crossing, where abandoned buildings that once housed factories stand. It then passes a scrap yard just before going around a sharp curve (locally dubbed "Hotshot Curve") just past C-Street. After this curve, Noble Street widens to four lanes, passes by a few more abandoned factory buildings and then enters the downtown area at AL 202, where it narrows back down to two lanes. A median separates the two lanes beginning at 9th Street just past the Commerce Towers, one of the tallest buildings in Northeast Alabama. This continues all the way up to 15th Street, where the street widens again to four lanes. It stays this way up to 25th Street, where it goes back to two lanes. Noble Street then passes Edgemont Cemetery and ends at a "fork-in-the-road." The left side of the fork becomes the Old Gadsden Highway, which ends at US 431 near Alexandria, Alabama The right side becomes Pelham Road, which ends at McClellan Boulevard just across from the former Fort McClellan.
