Image talk:Noble-shushavian1.jpg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This image is over 100 years old, it's from painting in 19th century by V. V. Vereschagin, Prior attempt to remove it [1] was made by banned User:Artaxiad, so the IP account attempt to do the same is suspicious. Atabek (talk) 21:38, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
I am the anon who did this. Unfortunately there is no external info about this picture of a "noble" - where is the image from? so what if it is a hundred years old, there are still copyright laws, especially as to where the image is reporoduced from. I would like the original source so as to check reliablity of this noble- is he armenian? Lezgian?Kurdish? Azeri? Unfortunately, nationalist Armenian and Azerbaijani editors have skewed the article and confuse the average user rather than clear the matter. I do not care if the image goes or stays, but instead of reverting it, please provide proper place of scanning and copyright, as I doubt any of these users "owns" this picture. The other picture in the article - an azeri girl from Shusha is a lie too, as the original title was a tatar girl from shusha and it is copyrighted by a georgian site.69.125.221.82 (talk) 02:39, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- You have already tried to delete this image and many others before. Stop it, this image is from 19th century and is PD. Grandmaster (talk) 05:14, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
I do not know how many doubtless images I tried to delete before, but refresh me on my alleged reputation. but really, I do not know where the image is from either stop pussyfooting and reverting for your friend, and get the original source and caption, proving it is the genuine thing it will be deleted. This is not the first time you armenain and azeri amigos messed up areticles like this and lied. Just like "azeri girl from shusha - copyvio and faked the description.70.21.139.214 (talk) 16:16, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is becoming a waste of time. The best way of dealing with such issues is contacting the uploader. I emailed him, so let's wait for Tabib's response. Grandmaster (talk) 05:56, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- the most sensible thing you have said so far. tell him to provide proper source and scan or photograph whole page of where he got image from as well as origal caption, so we can all check.70.21.139.214 (talk) 16:34, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately my requests remain unanswered. Please provide the original scan of the entire page as well as correct caption. Also, the copyright tag is innapropriate as the user clearly states it was published in 1960's!149.68.31.146 (talk) 13:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Your requests are being answered, but it does not happen in your time. Speedy deletion is not appropriate, as a source was provided. If you dont believe that this source is correct, the appropriate venue is WP:IFD, or you dont believe that a 1800s image could be printed in a book that was published after that date, take it to WP:PUI.
